About the Role
The engineer is responsible for delivering high-level service and troubleshooting support for complex analytical systems, ensuring minimal downtime for clients through proactive and reactive maintenance in laboratory and research settings.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues with precision instruments
- Perform scheduled and emergency maintenance at customer locations
- Ensure equipment operates according to manufacturer and regulatory standards
- Document service activities and customer interactions accurately
- Communicate technical findings to clients and internal teams
- Install and calibrate new systems at customer sites
- Follow safety protocols during all field operations
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of product advancements
- Respond to urgent service requests within defined timeframes
- Coordinate with technical specialists for complex issue resolution
- Provide feedback to product teams on recurring field issues
- Adhere to service level agreements and performance metrics
- Manage parts inventory and equipment logistics
- Train customers on proper instrument operation and care
- Support validation and compliance documentation
- Use remote diagnostic tools when applicable
- Escalate unresolved problems following internal procedures
- Maintain accurate service records in company systems
- Follow regional travel schedules as assigned
- Promote customer satisfaction through professional conduct
- Stay current with regulatory requirements for instrument use
- Participate in ongoing technical training programs
- Assist in product demonstrations when needed
- Report field trends to management regularly
- Ensure compliance with data privacy and handling policies
