About the Role
The role involves conducting detailed quality reviews of structural engineering inspection reports, identifying discrepancies, and ensuring adherence to technical standards and client requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review structural inspection reports for technical accuracy and completeness
- Verify data consistency between field findings and documented results
- Identify errors, omissions, or non-compliance with engineering standards
- Collaborate with technical teams to resolve report discrepancies
- Ensure documentation follows established formatting and procedural guidelines
- Track and log quality issues using digital reporting tools
- Provide feedback to report authors for continuous improvement
- Maintain quality assurance records and audit trails
- Support the development of standardized reporting templates
- Monitor turnaround times and ensure timely delivery of validated reports
- Conduct periodic audits of previously approved reports
- Assist in updating quality control checklists
- Stay current with changes in structural engineering codes and practices
- Escalate critical quality concerns to project supervisors
- Ensure all safety-related observations are properly documented
- Validate calculations and measurements referenced in reports
- Confirm proper use of technical terminology and units
- Review supporting documentation such as photos and diagrams
- Ensure compliance with client-specific reporting requirements
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives
- Support onboarding of new technical staff through QA guidance
- Maintain confidentiality of project and client information
- Adapt review processes for different structure types and materials
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Meet quality benchmarks and performance metrics
Nice to Have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license
- Certification in structural inspection or non-destructive testing
- Experience with bridge or highway infrastructure reports
- Background in forensic engineering or failure analysis
- Familiarity with ASTM or ACI standards
- Experience using QA software platforms
- Prior work with government or municipal engineering projects
