About the Role
This role involves delivering psychiatric care to patients through virtual platforms, conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and managing medication as needed. The psychiatrist will work with individuals across various stages of mental health conditions and collaborate with other clinicians to ensure coordinated care.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations via telehealth
- Diagnose and treat mental health disorders using clinical guidelines
- Develop individualized treatment plans for patients
- Prescribe and manage psychiatric medications
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment as necessary
- Document clinical interactions in the electronic health record
- Collaborate with care teams to support patient outcomes
- Respond to patient messages within established timeframes
- Participate in multidisciplinary team discussions
- Ensure compliance with regulatory and licensing standards
- Maintain up-to-date medical knowledge and practices
- Support patient education about mental health conditions
- Address psychiatric emergencies through virtual channels
- Coordinate care with primary providers when appropriate
- Uphold patient confidentiality and ethical standards
- Complete prior authorizations and necessary paperwork
- Attend scheduled training or operational meetings
- Provide feedback to improve clinical workflows
- Engage in quality improvement initiatives
- Follow protocols for patient safety and risk assessment
