Responsibilities
- Lead, coach and support a small team of engineers working on data-intensive systems and services.
- Drive the technical direction and delivery of projects that process, model or expose large-scale datasets.
- Foster strong engineering practices around system reliability, data correctness, performance and maintainability.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship, helping engineers grow in architecture, system design and data modeling.
- Stay technically engaged through code reviews, architecture discussions and coding.
- Collaborate closely with Product and other teams to ensure systems deliver meaningful product outcomes.
- Improve engineering processes and team practices to increase clarity, alignment and delivery velocity.
- Help evolve our data and platform architecture, improving scalability and operational simplicity.
Requirements
- Strong experience building and operating production systems.
- Experience leading engineers or technical initiatives (for example as a Tech Lead, Staff Engineer or Engineering Manager).
- Exceptional Senior, Staff or Tech Lead engineers with strong technical leadership experience are encouraged to apply.
- Comfortable staying technically involved while leading a team.
- Experience working with data platforms, distributed systems or large-scale data pipelines.
- Strong understanding of system design, scalability and operational reliability.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills you create clarity, ownership and trust within the team.
- Fluent in English and based in the European time zone (UTC+0 to UTC+2).
Nice to Have
- Experience with modern data tooling such as Snowflake, dbt, Dagster or similar technologies is a strong plus.
