Virtu Financial is hiring a Quantitative Trader - Fixed Income

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for risk management, strategy configuration and implementation and primary market trading.
  • Work closely with operations, compliance, brokers and custodians to mitigate risk and generate revenue for the firm.
  • Design, operate, and improve high-performance algorithmic trading strategies deployed on both electronic trading venues and RFQ trading platforms around the world.
  • Build and manage relationships with issuers and other trading partners.

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience working in a trading support role, or in a comparable role at trading firm or financial institution.
  • Excellent academic background. All majors welcome but ones with a quantitative lean preferred (computer science, math, sciences, economics and related fields).
  • Bond experience required.
  • Technical proficiency - SQL and Python are used by most Traders at Virtu to work more efficiently.
  • Prior experience in these or other programming languages are required.
  • A 'physicalizer'; a person who identifies issues and creates solutions without rigid direction or fanfare.
  • Highly motivated and tenacious individual, with a proven ability to take initiative and work independently and within a team.
  • Team player: authentic, genuine person who is capable of working collective goals.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge and experience pricing, settling, clearing Fixed Income beneficial.
  • ETF knowledge a plus.
