Axelera AI was looking for a Quality Manager

About the Role

Lead the development and execution of end-to-end quality systems within a high-growth AI hardware organization. As Quality Manager, you will shape quality processes across incoming inspection, production, supplier management, and field operations, ensuring robustness and scalability across product lines including M.2, PCIe, and single-board computing platforms.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and refine incoming and outgoing quality control (IQC/OQC) processes for all hardware product families, setting inspection standards and test coverage in partnership with engineering teams
  • Lead the full RMA lifecycle: analyze returned products, conduct root cause investigations, implement corrective actions, and communicate findings to stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain quality dashboards tracking yield, defect rates, and field return trends, delivering insights to operations leadership
  • Qualify and audit suppliers and manufacturing partners, managing quality scorecards and driving improvement initiatives for critical components
  • Lead non-conformance resolution, including evaluation of 8D reports and CAPA effectiveness
  • Support new supplier and second-source qualification with a focus on quality readiness
  • Integrate quality checkpoints into the new product introduction (NPI) process, defining exit criteria for DVT and PVT phases
  • Ensure smooth transition of products from development to mass production with strong yield learning and process control
  • Oversee documentation such as control plans, FMEAs, and work instructions in collaboration with contract manufacturers
  • Manage product compliance certifications (CE, FCC, UL) and ensure adherence to regulatory standards throughout the product lifecycle
  • Act as the internal authority on environmental regulations including RoHS, REACH, and WEEE
  • Establish and maintain a certified quality management system aligned with ISO 9001 principles
  • Promote structured problem-solving methods such as 8D, 5-Why, and Ishikawa across operations teams
  • Ensure all quality records are audit-ready and meet customer and regulatory expectations

What We’re Looking For

You bring 7+ years of experience in electronics or semiconductor quality roles, with direct involvement in IQC, OQC, and supplier quality management. You have worked in environments involving SoC integration, board-level hardware, or system development. Experience managing CM/ODM relationships and conducting supplier audits is essential. You are skilled in quality methodologies including FMEA, CAPA, SPC, and control planning, and have supported NPI transitions into volume manufacturing.

Strong analytical abilities and fluency in English are required to collaborate across global teams. Familiarity with AI hardware, PCIe or M.2 form factors, or single-board computers is a plus. Certification as an ISO 9001 Lead Auditor or experience in fast-growing hardware startups is also valued.

Work Environment

This is a hybrid role with flexibility to work from an office or remotely across European countries, including locations in Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Switzerland, and the UK. Options exist for relocation to Amsterdam or Eindhoven. The role supports a flexible schedule with a mix of on-site and remote collaboration.

Our Culture

We foster innovation through cross-functional teamwork and technical ownership. You’ll work in an environment that values creative problem-solving, personal accountability, and inclusive collaboration. The company is committed to equal opportunity and building a diverse, welcoming workplace where all perspectives are respected.

  • Competitive total compensation package
  • Pension and comprehensive employee insurance plans
  • Opportunity to receive company shares
  • Flexible work model supporting remote, hybrid, or relocation options
