Responsibilities
- Performs quality testing and records results for raw materials and finished goods on the production floor.
- Checks and documents in-process and final product quality to confirm alignment with defined standards and temperature controls.
- Reviews and logs label details to confirm compliance with regulations, including tare weight, UPC, readability, establishment number, pricing, and product identification.
- Inspects and records incoming ingredients for compliance with visual and temperature criteria.
- Confirms and documents sell-by and production dates during manufacturing runs.
- Identifies root causes of quality issues and communicates findings to production staff.
- Analyzes problem circumstances to determine underlying causes and recommend preventive actions.
- Collaborates with other leads and supervisors to coordinate departmental activities for consistent quality coverage.
- Reports out-of-specification products to supervisory personnel promptly.
- Supports compliance verification for GMPs and employee safety protocols.
- Aids management in conducting root cause analyses and applying corrective actions.
- Provides training to new employees as required.
- Operates effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Prepares daily reports, forms, and blue label documentation as needed.
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of GMPs, SOPs, policies, procedures, and product specifications.
- Confirms equipment calibration is current and accurate.
- Keeps leadership informed with regular updates and communication.
- Conducts thorough inspections, tests, and recordkeeping.
- Certified and trained in pre-operational procedures.
- Certified and trained in HACCP-related documentation and processes.
- Leads a team responsible for monitoring quality of in-process and finished products to meet standards.
- Plans and supports quality team tasks as necessary.
- Fosters positive team dynamics, expectations, and morale.
- Assesses and communicates employee performance and training requirements.
- Keeps precise and up-to-date quality records.
