Williams Lea by RRD is hiring a Quality Inspector 2

Responsibilities

  • Select and prepare sample units for shipping as required.
  • Conduct visual examinations of randomly chosen products during or after manufacturing to detect defects.
  • Identify issues such as frayed edges, damaged or folded pages, partial cuts, binding errors, color imperfections, contamination, or other non-conforming characteristics.
  • Use standardized checklists to guide inspection processes and document findings.
  • Log all detected defects according to procedure.
  • Adhere to defined quality Standard Operating Procedures to verify compliance with customer requirements.
  • Generate written reports detailing discovered defects and communicate them to production supervisors.
  • Notify leadership of potential quality concerns and escalate when necessary.
  • Collaborate with team leads or management to resolve emerging quality issues.
  • Support special assignments or intricate customer jobs as needed.
  • Assist in evaluating and managing non-conforming or faulty materials.
  • Carry out additional tasks as directed by supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Perform “samples” selection and package for shipment.
  • Perform visual inspection of random samples of product selected during a production run, or post production, looking for a variety of possible defects such as ragged edges, torn or wrinkled pages, incomplete cuts, incorrect bindings, smeared or blotched colors, dirt on the product, and any other visual defect that is out of specification.
  • Follows inspection checklist and records any identified defects.
  • Follow established quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) to ensure product meets quality conformance specified by the customer.
  • Prepares written reports and provides notification to manufacturing management of known or found defects.
  • Identify potential issues and involve department Lead and/or management to determine an appropriate solution.
  • May assist with special projects or more complex customer orders.
  • May assist with disposition of defective or non-conforming product.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
