Responsibilities
- Design and execute quality control and assurance procedures to maintain product standards.
- Produce and update quality-related documentation such as standard operating procedures, work instructions, and inspection plans.
- Partner with engineering, production, and product development teams to establish quality criteria.
- Conduct evaluations, measurements, and testing on raw materials, work-in-progress parts, and final products.
- Apply quality methodologies including FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, and root cause analysis techniques.
- Ensure adherence to internal policies and external standards such as ISO and Six Sigma.
- Gather and interpret quality metrics, detect patterns, and formulate corrective strategies.
- Generate quality performance reports, CAPA documentation, and defect summaries.
- Support ongoing improvement programs including Lean, 5S, and Kaizen events.
- Lead root cause analysis using structured techniques like 5 Whys, Fishbone diagrams, and DMAIC.
- Collaborate across departments to resolve quality discrepancies efficiently.
- Deploy preventive actions to minimize defects and process inconsistencies.
- Assess and audit suppliers to verify incoming material quality.
- Oversee supplier corrective actions and track supplier performance metrics.
- Interact with customers on specifications, feedback, and quality enhancement efforts.
Quality Planning & Assurance
- Develop and implement quality control (QC) and quality assurance (QA) processes.
- Create and maintain quality documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, and inspection plans.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and product teams to define quality standards.
Testing & Inspection
- Perform inspections, measurements, and tests on raw materials, in‑process components, and finished products.
- Use quality tools such as FMEA, PPAP, APQP, MSA, SPC, and Root‑Cause Analysis.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external regulations (ISO, Six Sigma, industry standards).
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Collect and analyze quality data, identify trends, and develop action plans.
- Prepare quality dashboards, CAPA reports, and defect reports.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, Kaizen, etc.
Problem Solving & Continuous Improvement
- Lead root‑cause investigations using methods like 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, DMAIC.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams to resolve quality issues.
- Implement preventive measures to reduce defect rates and process variation.
Supplier & Customer Engagement
- Evaluate and audit suppliers to ensure quality of incoming materials.
- Manage supplier CAPA and performance monitoring.
- Communicate with customers regarding product specifications, complaints, and quality improvements.
