Responsibilities
- Perform visual assessments of the production environment, product quality, and packaging integrity; report any deviations or flaws to appropriate staff
- Isolate and secure items that fail to meet established food safety or quality standards
- Document all inspection results and monitoring data accurately and in a timely manner
- Communicate findings both verbally and in writing to support continuous improvement in food safety and quality adherence
- Conduct pre-operational inspections to ensure equipment, machinery, and facilities are properly cleaned, maintained, and ready for production, and that staff follow hygiene and safety protocols
- Verify compliance with HACCP plans, critical control point monitoring, sanitary standard operating procedures, and employee adherence to good manufacturing practices
- Collect product and environmental samples for laboratory analysis according to current and evolving customer specifications, including microbiological sampling
