Responsibilities
- Oversee the accurate and efficient execution of assigned purchasing tasks, including ordering, verifying, and expediting purchases of various items. Ensure received products match ordered quantities, prices, and delivery dates. Verify purchase orders and invoices for accuracy. Monitor inventory levels to meet production demands and maintain safety stock levels. Research and locate vendors, request bids, and submit them to the Supply Chain manager as directed. Keep current and historical cost data for all purchased items. Ensure vendors provide quality-related documentation and communicate quality standards for all orders. Update vendor part numbers and pricing in the ERP system. Maintain all purchasing records and paperwork. Address and report purchasing issues or discrepancies to the Supply Chain manager.
- Build and maintain professional relationships with vendors, conveying information courteously and promptly, and upholding the company’s professional reputation.
- Foster effective communication and coordination with company personnel and management. Collaborate with research and development, vendors, and production on new products and parts, and report details to the Supply Chain manager. Notify relevant managers immediately of any purchasing issues affecting the production plan. Interface with production personnel, disseminate information, and keep departments informed of schedule changes. Provide suggestions for policy and procedure improvements and attend required meetings.
- Perform additional duties as required, ensuring the work area is clean, secure, and well-maintained.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Knowledge of supply chain management principles and best practices
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Good math skills
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail

Nice to Have
- Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, or a related field
- 3-5 years of purchasing experience
- Supervisory experience
- Experience with MRP, ERP systems (SAP)
