AECOM is hiring a Protection and Controls Engineer (P.E.) - Substations - Remote (U.S.)

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the lead electrical protection and controls engineer and official engineer of record for substation, switchyard, and electrical infrastructure projects, including new and existing facilities
  • Perform electrical engineering design tasks for assigned projects
  • Collaborate with project engineers and managers to establish design timelines and budgets for electrical engineering activities
  • Conduct power system studies and coordinate protection relay settings across various projects
  • Develop documentation outlining the basis of design for relay configurations and protection settings
  • Provide engineering support during construction, startup, and commissioning phases
  • Evaluate electrical engineering deliverables produced by fellow engineers
  • Participate in client-facing meetings
  • Travel periodically to client locations or project sites for data collection and site assessments
  • Guide junior engineers and lead internal training sessions when requested
