Kirby Group Engineering is hiring a Project Quantity Surveyor | Power and Renewables | Ireland

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate expertise in budgeting, financial reporting, and developing bills of quantities and profit planning frameworks.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders across project teams and client organizations.
  • Lead and coordinate regular commercial meetings with clients and internal project personnel.
  • Provide comprehensive commercial status updates to the Project Manager as needed.
  • Oversee subcontractor financial accounts, including interim valuations and final settlements.
  • Ensure timely processing of payment certifications and disbursements according to subcontract and procurement agreements.
  • Apply retentions in accordance with contractual terms and conditions.
  • Administer contractual duties and fulfill any additional client-specific requirements.
  • Issue interim and final account submissions and progress claims as stipulated by project contracts.
  • Prepare monthly financial applications that include verified remeasurements, site modifications, dayworks, and valid contract claims.
  • Recognize and report cost escalations related to materials or labor where applicable.
  • Identify potential commercial risks and escalate them promptly to senior leadership.
  • Carry out assigned tasks under the guidance and direction of senior management.
  • Possess a working knowledge of project scheduling and its impact on commercial outcomes.
  • Collaborate closely with the Planning Engineer to ensure precision in progress reporting.
  • Evaluate, cost, and agree on daily work adjustments, including remeasurement of works, dayworks, and site change orders.
  • Keep thorough records and supply detailed documentation to support cost tracking and financial analysis.
  • Work independently, prioritize tasks efficiently, and exercise initiative without constant supervision.
  • Emphasize speed and accuracy when handling and delivering financial and commercial data.
  • Engage in negotiations with clients or their representatives when required.
  • Demonstrate commitment, professionalism, and diligence in all responsibilities.
  • Actively safeguard sensitive information and adhere fully to the organization's Information Security Management System.
