Responsibilities
- Serves as technical lead for aviation civil engineering, demonstrating advanced expertise in airport design and development
- Develops detailed engineering designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, and construction drawings for airport infrastructure such as runways, taxiways, aprons, terminals, and support facilities
- Manages a portfolio of clients with multiple concurrent projects, driving repeat business through consistent, high-quality delivery
- Achieves targeted revenue and profit margins without write-downs or reductions in billing multipliers
- Typically oversees projects with identified Risk Triggering Factors (RTF)
- Leads complex client engagements and high-risk projects, exercising decision-making authority to identify and mitigate risks
- Guides teams to reduce exposure to contractual claims and liabilities
- Supervises and coordinates multiple Project Managers across a program or several projects
- Prepares construction specifications in compliance with FAA Advisory Circular 150/5370-10 and applicable state regulations
- Produces design reports, project schedules, quantity takeoffs, and cost estimates
- Utilizes design software, including Civil 3D, to develop and document engineering plans
- Coordinates with multidisciplinary teams, including architects, engineers, sub-consultants, utility providers, permitting authorities, contractors, and regulatory agencies
- Acts as engineering Task Leader, providing direct supervision and mentorship to CAD technicians, designers, and engineers as assigned
- Conducts construction administration activities to support project implementation
- Executes all work within established budget and timeline parameters
