Responsibilities
- Champion and adhere to all safety protocols at plant locations.
- Track and manage project budgets, timelines, and work quality.
- Conduct regular and extended field visits to job sites to monitor progress and provide updates.
- Support the creation of construction, startup, and maintenance procedures for plant projects, including training needs for new systems.
- Interpret contract terms, building codes, inspection standards, process methods, and electrical requirements.
- Coordinate inspection and testing efforts during construction, identifying and correcting deficiencies.
- Help develop standard construction specifications and contract documentation.
- Ensure contractors comply with health and safety regulations and practices.
- Review third-party engineering designs, quotes, and drawings for accuracy and flag issues in the organization's interest.
- Assist in designing and rolling out training for standard software used in project management.
- Support feasibility assessments for new initiatives.
- Engage with both field personnel and senior leadership.
- Negotiate commercial, technical, and construction-related disputes effectively.
- Participate in professional organizations such as IEEE, PCA, and ACI.
- Perform additional tasks as directed by management.
Requirements
- Ability to comprehend written safety materials, instructions, labels, and signs.
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum four years) in mechanical, electrical, civil, mining, electronic instrumentation, technology, or a related discipline.
- At least five years of project management experience in heavy construction or process industries.
- Strong written and verbal English communication and listening skills.
- Proven negotiation capabilities.
- Apply analytical and mathematical reasoning to resolve diverse engineering challenges.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Microsoft Office, and other applicable software tools.
- Knowledge of building codes and permitting procedures.
- Demonstrate consistent, sound independent decision-making.
- Work under general supervision using established policies and practices.
- Consult supervisors only when uncertain about correct procedures.
- Willingness to travel domestically up to 75% of the time.
Nice to Have
