Oversee the coordination and administration of youth leadership programs, including the State Youth Council, Youth Advisory Council, and summer internship and mentorship initiatives. This role focuses on building capacity within youth councils and expanding opportunities for civic involvement across the state.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage end-to-end logistics for youth programs, including event planning, travel arrangements, and participant communications
- Develop and refine internal processes to improve program efficiency and consistency
- Lead recruitment, selection, and onboarding for youth participants and interns
- Prepare meeting agendas, record minutes, and distribute program updates and newsletters
- Coordinate statewide conferences and ensure all materials and staffing needs are met
- Support outreach efforts to grow youth council participation and improve access to leadership development
- Act as a liaison between youth participants, advisors, and state leadership
- Conduct research, draft reports, and respond to emerging needs within the programs
- Represent youth initiatives to external audiences and promote civic engagement
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and at least one year of relevant experience are required. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience that demonstrates equivalent capability will be considered. The candidate must be available for regular travel within North Carolina.
