Role Overview
This position is responsible for leading the end-to-end deployment of database systems at client locations, ensuring reliable performance and seamless integration with existing infrastructure. The engineer serves as a technical point of contact, guiding clients through setup, configuration, and optimization while addressing challenges that arise during and after implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the installation, configuration, and migration of database environments, ensuring compatibility and efficiency within client ecosystems.
- Diagnose and resolve performance issues, system outages, and complex technical faults with speed and precision.
- Offer expert-level advice on database architecture, operational best practices, and performance tuning tailored to client needs.
- Collaborate with support, pre-sales, and research teams to escalate and resolve critical technical challenges.
- Engage directly with clients to understand operational goals and translate them into effective technical solutions.
- Produce clear, detailed documentation covering configurations, troubleshooting steps, and system maintenance procedures.
- Log technical issues and insights to support product improvements and enhance future client experiences.
- Maintain consistent communication with Technical Account Managers and engineering teams to ensure client success.
Required Qualifications
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related technical discipline.
- Have at least three years of hands-on experience in database operations, support, or deployment roles.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of relational databases, particularly MySQL and Oracle, including their operational behavior and management.
- Possess strong familiarity with Linux and Unix environments and command-line tools.
- Understand common enterprise database architectures and integration patterns.
- Show proven ability to analyze, isolate, and resolve critical system issues under pressure.
- Exhibit strong initiative, accountability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Background
- Experience with NoSQL or NewSQL database technologies is a strong advantage.
