DroneDeploy is hiring a Product Manager, Aerial (USA)

About the Role

DroneDeploy is seeking a Product Manager to lead the execution of the Aerial workflows roadmap, focusing on flight planning, capture, and upload. This hands-on role involves close collaboration with engineering and design teams to deliver shippable features across web, mobile, and remote controllers, while leveraging AI tooling and telemetry to drive product decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Aerial roadmap: execute across flight planning, capture, and upload.
  • Help run the software development cycle: manage the backlog, sprint planning, and releases in collaboration with engineering and design.
  • Implement our hardware ecosystem strategy: help customers standardize on DroneDeploy across mixed fleets and docks (with DJI and non‑DJI drones).
  • Partner with CSMs, Solutions, Services, and key accounts: perform continuous discovery to turn field feedback into prioritized improvements, especially around reliability and high‑accuracy mapping.
  • Help reimagine the role of PM with AI: use new tools and workflows to accelerate discovery, decision‑making, and documentation, and share what works with the broader team.
  • Track and improve key metrics: monitor Aerial data, such as mission success rates, uptime, Aerial Pro adoption, and contribution to ARR and retention, and report progress to product and R&D leadership.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years PM experience building enterprise software products.
  • Proven track record shipping field‑critical workflows with strong execution and written communication, plus deep empathy for those field workflows where safety, reliability, and data trust are non‑negotiable.
  • Comfortable working with telemetry and logs to understand real‑world behavior.
  • AI‑forward: regularly using AI tools and is excited to push what an AI‑augmented PM can do across research, analysis, prototyping, and documentation.
  • Holding or obtaining a USA Part 107 remote pilot certificate is strongly preferred. If not already certified, willingness to obtain it within the first 90 days of employment is required, and it must be maintained for the entirety of your tenure in the role.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience building geospatial, construction, or reality capture software.
  • Experience with drones, robotics, or autonomous systems (flight planning, SDK‑based integrations, MAVLink).
  • Familiarity with inspection, energy, or agriculture workflows.

Benefits

  • Culture of Innovation & Collaboration – Thrive in an environment that values creativity and teamwork.
