About the Role

Honeywell is looking for a Principal Systems Engineer to design, develop, and integrate highly complex avionics platform systems. You will create solutions that meet evolving customer needs and take ownership across the entire system lifecycle, ensuring designs align with our quality standards and industry best practices.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical leadership across the avionics platform, including Systems, Software, Tools, and Hardware.
  • Lead cross-team coordination and provide influence-based leadership.
  • Perform requirements analysis, safety analysis, and requirements decomposition.
  • Own systems and software design, integration, validation, and verification.
  • Interact with internal customers and oversee project coordination.

What We're Looking For

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics.
  • 15 or more years of systems and/or software engineering experience.
  • Demonstrated leadership by influence.
  • Experience certifying large avionics systems and with Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) platforms.
  • Experience with cyber security aspects of product development.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to export control laws.

Nice to Have

  • A Master’s Degree in Engineering, preferably computer systems or electronics.
  • Expert knowledge of the systems and software development lifecycle.
  • Ability to balance organizational demand and capacity when setting priorities.
  • Experience leading diverse and global teams by influence.
  • Self-motivation and the ability to work with little supervision, consistently taking initiative.
  • Skill in managing a variety of complicated tasks and people.
  • The ability to make autonomous decisions.

Team & Environment

You will report directly to a Sr Engineering Manager.
