  • Full-stack capability to work across backend services and frontend layers, including APIs and UI integration.
  • Solid foundation in object-oriented programming, design patterns, system architecture, and algorithms.
  • Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as Angular (preferred), React, or TypeScript for full-stack contributions.
  • Strong understanding of multithreading, asynchronous programming, and cloud-native development models.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, especially Azure, with AWS or GCP also acceptable; serverless and event-driven architectures are a plus.
  • Proficient in containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Demonstrated experience using AI coding tools such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor in daily workflows.
  • Experience driving team-wide adoption of AI-powered developer tools, including setting guidelines and measuring impact.
  • Familiarity with agile, CI/CD, DevOps, and infrastructure-as-code practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with a track record of collaborating across global, distributed teams.
  • Ability to explain and drive complex technical decisions with stakeholders at all levels.

Nice to Have

  • Knowledge of LLMs, RAG, AI-powered API automation, and agentic workflows, especially in test generation or self-healing systems.
  • Background in software testing, including automation frameworks like Playwright or Selenium, ALM tools like Jira, or CI/CD integrations.
  • Experience with GraphQL APIs, API gateways, and service mesh patterns.
  • Familiarity with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, and distributed tracing.
  • Contributions to developer tools, internal platforms, or open-source projects.
  • Experience measuring and implementing AI-enhanced developer productivity metrics, such as AI-augmented DORA.

Life at UiPath

The team believes automation can transform how the world works. We build enterprise software that unlocks this potential, driven by curiosity, collaboration, and purpose. We value people who move fast, think deeply, and care about each other and the impact of their work.

Your mission

As a Principal Software Engineer on the Test Cloud team, you will lead the architecture and delivery of platform systems that enable intelligent, autonomous testing. You will combine deep backend expertise with full-stack insight to shape technical decisions across the engineering stack. You will also drive the adoption of AI-powered developer tools, redefining how engineering teams build software in an AI-first era.

UiPath Test Cloud

UiPath Test Cloud is an integrated suite that streamlines the testing lifecycle through deep connections with ALM tools and the core automation platform. It supports manual and automated test creation, execution, and reporting within DevOps pipelines. The platform stands out with AI-powered and agentic testing capabilities, using LLMs and autopilot features to accelerate test creation, improve coverage, enable self-healing, and reduce manual effort. It supports functional, performance, and mobile testing at scale. Built on .NET Core, C#, Kubernetes, Docker, Azure, and LLMs, the team owns end-to-end delivery—from architecture to deployment—while continuously innovating AI-driven testing features and ecosystem integrations.

Who you are — Builder’s mindset, product sense, and technical depth

You are a builder who takes ideas from concept to production, owning the outcome, not just the design. You act with urgency, ship practical solutions, and value working software over perfection—while maintaining high standards. You think systemically but also understand customer needs and product value. You collaborate naturally with product and design, challenge assumptions, and propose technical solutions that unlock new capabilities. You see engineering and product excellence as inseparable.

What you'll do at UiPath

  • Architect and lead the development of large-scale distributed systems for the Test Cloud platform, covering test orchestration, execution engines, reporting, ALM/CI integrations, and AI services, with built-in scalability and reliability.
  • Define the multi-quarter technical roadmap and align with adjacent platform teams, representing engineering in customer and external technical forums.
  • Make full-stack architectural decisions across APIs, data flow, state, and real-time behavior to ensure seamless integration.
  • Partner with product and design to shape product direction, challenge scope, and center decisions on customer outcomes.
  • Lead the technical vision for embedding agentic intelligence into testing, enabling smarter test generation and autonomous workflows.
  • Champion AI coding agents and AI-assisted workflows to boost team velocity and code quality, setting team norms and evaluating new tools.
  • Mentor engineers, conduct high-quality reviews, and promote best practices in architecture and CI/CD.
  • Optimize system performance, define SLOs, and ensure high availability for critical testing workloads using observability tools.
  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies like serverless, Kafka, Spark, and Kubernetes to modernize the platform.
  • Own software deliverables end-to-end—quality, security, scalability—and manage cross-team dependencies proactively.

What you'll bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
  • 13+ years of software engineering experience, with 5+ years in distributed systems and backend architecture.

  • Strong product sense and customer empathy, able to translate problems into technical and product opportunities.
  • Proficiency in backend languages like C# (preferred), Java, or Go, with deep experience in ASP.NET Core.
  • Full-stack experience across backend and frontend layers, including APIs and UI integration.
  • Deep knowledge of OOP, design patterns, system design, and algorithms.
  • Experience with Angular (preferred), React, or TypeScript for full-stack contributions.
