About the Role
Oversee the creation and enhancement of control center hardware products and tools, ensuring adherence to processes and on-time, within-budget delivery. Manage work packages, guide team members, and lead obsolescence management including board re-design and firmware migration. Support industrial PC configuration, documentation migration to new PLM systems, product approvals, and software integration. Strengthen design methodologies to improve product durability and work with software, supply chain, and component teams to ensure solutions remain effective.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement digital hardware and firmware for railway signaling systems using custom and commercial off-the-shelf platforms
- Create detailed plans for hardware and firmware development cycles
- Collaborate with software development teams to ensure alignment
- Define requirements for hardware-software interfaces
- Diagnose and resolve technical issues in hardware and firmware
- Produce accurate and comprehensive technical documentation

Role Overview
Lead the design and development/improvement of control centre hardware products, tools, and adherence to process. Ensure activities are delivered on time and to budget including work package management. Provide mentorship to other team members. Lead the management of product obsolescence activities (re-design of multiple boards, including support for firmware migration from obsolete to new devices). Supporting and documenting industrial PC configurations, migration of NPI documentation into new PLM tool. Support of product approval, software integration and project delivery, ensuring that the products, tools and processes remain fit for purpose. Improve quality and product robustness through better design methodology. Work closely with teams across the business such as software, supply chain and component engineering. Improve requirements capture and more.
