About the Role
This role leads the creation and verification of thermal simulation models for ophthalmic medical devices, supporting product development from concept through commercialization with a focus on safety, efficacy, and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of thermal simulation strategies for new and existing medical devices
- Develop high-fidelity computational models to predict thermal behavior under various operating conditions
- Validate simulation results using empirical test data and physical experiments
- Collaborate with design and test engineers to optimize device performance and safety
- Support design verification and regulatory submissions with detailed simulation documentation
- Identify and implement improvements in simulation methodologies and tools
- Provide technical leadership on thermal performance to cross-functional project teams
- Troubleshoot thermal issues during product development and post-market phases
- Ensure modeling practices comply with industry standards and internal quality requirements
- Mentor junior engineers in simulation best practices and technical problem-solving
- Stay current with advancements in thermal analysis software and computational methods
- Work closely with manufacturing teams to assess thermal impacts during production
- Evaluate thermal risks associated with device use in diverse clinical environments
- Integrate simulation data into system-level performance assessments
- Drive innovation in thermal management solutions for miniaturized medical devices
- Participate in design reviews and provide data-driven recommendations
- Manage multiple project timelines and deliverables in a fast-paced environment
