As a Principal Engineer, you will play a central role in advancing blockchain technology within a large-scale enterprise. You'll be responsible for architecting and maintaining foundational components of a custom Layer 1 blockchain, working deeply within the Cosmos SDK and Go to build secure, high-performance modules that power critical financial infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise senior leadership on technical strategy for distributed systems, security, and enterprise-scale technology initiatives
- Design and implement core blockchain modules, including a role-based token factory for native asset creation
- Develop custom logic using ABCI++ interfaces—PrepareProposal and ProcessProposal—to enhance consensus and transaction processing
- Configure and manage blockchain networks from genesis, including validator onboarding and consensus tuning
- Enable cross-chain interoperability through the Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC) protocol
- Write comprehensive test suites covering unit, integration, and end-to-end scenarios to ensure protocol integrity
- Lead code reviews, contribute to architectural decisions, and uphold rigorous documentation standards
- Diagnose and resolve complex issues across development, testing, and production environments
Qualifications
Required: Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through professional background, education, or training. Preferred qualifications include hands-on development with the Cosmos SDK, expert-level Go proficiency, and practical knowledge of CometBFT and ABCI++. Experience launching or maintaining Cosmos-based blockchains is highly valued. Familiarity with cloud deployment of blockchain systems—particularly on GCP—is essential. Working knowledge of Rust is a plus, especially for reviewing and integrating components written in the language.
Environment and Culture
The role operates within a structured, compliance-focused organization that prioritizes risk management, operational accountability, and inclusive practices. You'll work alongside cross-functional teams in a culture that values technical excellence, proactive governance, and long-term system resilience. The organization supports accessibility and provides accommodations throughout the hiring process and employment.
Work Model
This is an onsite position, requiring presence at a designated work location to support collaboration and security protocols inherent in enterprise-grade blockchain development.
