Responsibilities
- Operate, configure, and maintain gravure or multi-color offset printing presses for single, dual, and multi-color print jobs featuring solid fills, screen tints, line work, and halftones requiring precise color accuracy and tight registration tolerances
- Analyze job orders to determine proper press configuration based on print layout methods such as sheet-wise or work-and-turn setups
- Complete all pre-production setup tasks including mounting plates or cylinders, inspecting them for defects, verifying image alignment, preparing blankets, and adjusting tension and registration settings
- Adjust ink density and press settings during setup to ensure final output meets defined quality standards before full production begins
- Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and upkeep of the press, including performing minor repairs and replacing damaged or worn components as needed
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks as recommended by the equipment manufacturer to ensure optimal performance and longevity
