Responsibilities
- Configure, calibrate, and run gravure or multi-color offset printing equipment to produce single, dual, and multi-color prints featuring solid areas, screened tints, lines, and halftones requiring precise color accuracy and registration from hairline to tight tolerances
- Analyze job details to determine proper press configuration based on run layout, whether sheet-wise or work-and-turn imposition
- Complete all pre-production setup tasks specific to the press type, including mounting plates or installing cylinders, inspecting for defects, verifying image placement, preparing blankets, and setting tension and alignment
- Adjust color output and press settings during make-ready to ensure final output meets quality standards before full production begins
- Perform cleaning, lubrication, and routine upkeep of the press, including minor repairs and replacing damaged or worn components as needed
- Carry out scheduled maintenance tasks according to manufacturer guidelines
