Responsibilities
- Operate, set up, and maintain single or multi-color offset printing presses
- Complete all required make-ready procedures, including plate or cylinder installation and inspection for defects
- Verify accurate image placement and perform blanket preparation and tension adjustments
- Ensure proper register settings and conduct pre-production checks for press readiness
- Adjust ink levels and press settings to meet quality standards before and during production
- Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and maintenance tasks on printing equipment
- Perform minor repairs and replace damaged or worn components as needed
- Follow manufacturer guidelines for scheduled preventive maintenance
- Monitor print quality throughout production runs to ensure consistency
- Troubleshoot mechanical or print-related issues during operation
- Collaborate with team members to meet production deadlines efficiently
- Adhere to safety protocols while operating heavy machinery
- Maintain accurate records of press performance and maintenance activities
- Assist in quality control checks for color accuracy and image clarity
- Support efficient workflow by minimizing downtime and material waste
- Train new operators in press operation and safety procedures
- Mentor current staff to reinforce best practices and procedural compliance
- Promote adherence to company policies and operational standards
- Ensure team understanding of production goals and quality expectations
- Contribute to continuous improvement in productivity and output quality
- Respond to supervisor direction for job changeovers and scheduling
- Handle printing materials and supplies safely and efficiently
- Inspect incoming materials for defects that may affect print quality
- Coordinate with prepress and postpress teams for seamless production
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
Responsibilities
- Set up, adjust, operate, and maintain single or multi-color offset press
- Perform all make-ready tasks associated with the type of press operated such as hanging plates or installing cylinders, examine plates/cylinders for imperfections and checks for correct positioning of images, prepping blankets, adjusting tension and register etc.
- Make necessary color corrections and/or press adjustments prior to production run to meet and maintain the quality specifications of the work
- Clean, lubricate, and maintain the press, making minor repairs and replacing worn or broken parts as required
- Performs periodic maintenance recommended by the manufacturer
- Training and mentoring new and existing employees, ensuring consistent knowledge of company policies, procedures, and best practices to improve team performance and productivity
