Responsibilities
- Evaluate patient medical histories and current symptoms
- Diagnose foot and lower limb conditions
- Perform routine and surgical podiatric procedures
- Prescribe orthotics and supportive footwear
- Manage diabetic foot care and wound treatment
- Educate patients on foot health and hygiene
- Collaborate with physicians and specialists
- Maintain accurate patient records
- Monitor treatment effectiveness and adjust plans
- Participate in ongoing clinical training
Qualifications
- Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) degree
- Valid state license to practice podiatry
- Board certification or eligibility
- Experience in clinical podiatry settings
- Knowledge of musculoskeletal anatomy
- Proficiency in diagnostic imaging interpretation
- Strong patient communication skills
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Familiarity with electronic health records
- Commitment to continuing education
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with minimally invasive surgical techniques
- Additional certification in wound care
- Training in biomechanics or gait analysis
