WPP Media is hiring a Planning Lead, MGM Theatrical

Responsibilities

  • Drive end-to-end planning for each film title, covering audience segmentation, channel strategy, timing, and budget allocation.
  • Convert high-level strategy into adaptable, modular planning models for use across diverse regional markets.
  • Establish standardized planning practices, templates, and quality benchmarks to maintain global consistency.
  • Monitor all planning activities to ensure coherence across titles and geographic regions.
  • Collaborate with client leads and studio partners to develop performance tracking and iterative improvement strategies.
  • Oversee the creation of planning deliverables for filmmakers in coordination with client leadership.
  • Lead centralized planning efforts for each release, ensuring alignment with global goals, audience insights, and studio priorities.
  • Design a multi-phase planning structure covering trailer launch, early awareness, main campaign, opening weekend, and post-launch phases.
  • Deliver clear planning briefs, guidelines, benchmarks, and schedules to local markets and activation teams.
  • Work with activation leads to confirm operational feasibility, resource needs, timing, and deliverable alignment.
  • Integrate performance measurement and learning objectives into the planning lifecycle.
  • Identify opportunities for early adoption, beta programs, and exclusive placements on key platforms.
  • Empower local teams through global ideation sessions that connect strategic concepts to on-the-ground execution.
  • Clarify which elements are mandated globally versus locally adaptable for each title and market.
  • Guide regional teams in interpreting the core planning framework with clear, senior-level direction and support.
  • Conduct focused reviews of market-specific plans, especially for priority titles or high-impact regions, to ensure quality and alignment.
  • Ensure consistent documentation flow between regional teams, central hub, and LA-based stakeholders.
  • Lead offline pan-regional campaigns in close collaboration with local teams to ensure cultural relevance.
  • Incorporate cultural trends, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence into planning processes.
  • Develop in-depth audience analyses for key films and genres, paired with market assessments and strategic implications.
  • Work with analytics teams to ensure performance data shapes future planning strategies.
  • Create internal and competitive film comparisons to inform planning decisions.
  • Partner with digital activation leads to ensure planning outputs translate effectively into campaign trafficking, QA, pacing, and optimization.
  • Collaborate with operations to maintain planning workflows, tool usage, timelines, deliverable standards, and quality checks.
  • Ensure coordination across functions during critical campaign phases: briefing, pre-launch, launch, and post-launch.
