As a Pixel Hardware System Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for shaping the next generation of direct-to-consumer hardware by leading electrical system design and integration efforts. You will guide architectural decisions, define electrical requirements, and validate designs to ensure they meet performance, power, and thermal targets across the product lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the selection of system architecture, electrical design, and validation processes for future hardware platforms.
- Collaborate with software, industrial design, product management, and manufacturing teams to integrate advanced technologies into final products.
- Identify and resolve electrical system challenges throughout development, from early prototyping to production readiness.
- Define Engineering Requirement Specifications (ERS), analyze test results, and support software bring-up to ensure robust hardware functionality.
- Travel to manufacturing sites as needed to oversee design implementation, troubleshoot issues, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Work closely with suppliers and manufacturing partners to align design goals with production capabilities and timelines.
Qualifications
You should have a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience. Four years of professional experience in consumer electronics or embedded systems development is required, with a focus on electrical system integration and product development.
Proficiency in power regulation, high- and low-speed digital design, hardware bring-up, debugging, schematic capture, and PCB layout is essential. Familiarity with System on a Chip (SoC), PMU, audio, sensors, display, touch, camera, and RF subsystems is highly valued.
A Master’s degree or PhD in Engineering is preferred. Experience in resolving cross-functional challenges related to system architecture, production quality, and development workflows will strengthen your candidacy. You should also have strong project management and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence technical direction across teams.
