Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is hiring a Physical Therapy Aide (Seasonal Summer Aide- per diem Floater)

Responsibilities

  • Act as a scribe to document and update therapeutic exercise records under the guidance of a licensed physical or occupational therapist
  • Support patient care by preparing heat and cold applications, assisting with paraffin treatments, guiding patients to the therapy pool, and helping them navigate exercise equipment
  • Monitor patient movement and physical effort during sessions, ensuring adherence to prescribed routines
  • Assist patients through targeted exercises and strength-building techniques as directed by therapists
  • Maintain treatment equipment by performing routine maintenance, following manufacturer guidelines, identifying malfunctions, and arranging repairs
  • Instruct patients on correct usage of therapy tools and exercise protocols
  • Prepare patients for treatment by greeting them, offering reassurance, and assisting with positioning for therapy
  • Respond to patient inquiries and concerns with clarity and empathy to reduce anxiety
  • Protect patient privacy and maintain confidentiality of all health information
  • Ensure a clean and safe environment by following established safety and sanitation procedures
  • Sterilize, transport, and set up therapy equipment and supplies; position tools and patients for therapist access
  • Set up treatment areas according to clinical protocols before patient sessions
  • Handle incoming calls from medical offices, hospitals, and patients with professionalism and strong customer service
  • Support front desk operations by managing appointments, answering phones, and completing administrative tasks as needed

  • This is a floater role for Suffolk county
  • Must be willing and able to go to any of the clinics in Suffolk county
  • Frequently required to walk, stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 40 pounds
  • Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and depth perception
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with demonstrated ability to juggle and prioritize multiple tasks and demands
  • May be required to assist or find appropriate assistance to make accommodations for disabled individuals
