Responsibilities
- Document and modify therapeutic exercises under the oversight of a physical or occupational therapist.
- Assist in patient care by preparing thermal and cryotherapy packs, paraffin treatments, and guiding patients to exercise equipment and the pool.
- Monitor patient movements, track exertion levels, and guide patients through prescribed exercises and strengthening techniques.
- Ensure treatment equipment functions properly by performing maintenance, following instructions, troubleshooting, and arranging repairs.
- Instruct patients on the correct use of equipment and exercise routines.
- Prepare patients for therapy by greeting, comforting, and assisting them into sessions.
- Address patient inquiries and concerns, and alleviate any fears.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and protect operational information.
- Uphold a clean and safe work environment by adhering to procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Provide and position equipment and supplies for therapist access and patient use.
- Set up the treatment room according to prescribed procedures and protocols.
- Handle calls from physician offices, hospitals, and patients with excellent customer service skills.
- Manage physical therapy supplies inventory by checking stock levels, anticipating needs, placing orders, and verifying receipts.
- Cover front desk duties as needed, including answering calls and assisting with scheduling.
- Perform additional front desk tasks and assignments as required.
