Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant- Outpatient

Responsibilities

  • Engages directly in patient treatment and communicates relevant health updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Adheres to the treatment plan designed by the Physical Therapist while operating within state-defined scope of practice.
  • Demonstrates professional judgment, care, and technical ability when carrying out responsibilities.
  • Teaches and guides patients through therapeutic exercises and recovery processes.
  • Recognizes individual patient requirements and responds with empathy and support.
  • Communicates suggestions for treatment adjustments to improve patient progress, safety, and comfort.
  • Maintains accurate electronic medical records under the supervision of a licensed PT, including daily notes requiring co-signature.
  • Responds to patient inquiries and provides requested information clearly and effectively.
  • Assists in patient treatment using thermal modalities, exercise equipment setup, movement monitoring, gait tracking, and guided therapeutic movements as directed.
  • Instructs patients on correct usage of medical equipment and prescribed exercise routines.
  • Preserves patient trust by safeguarding personal health information.
  • Ensures a safe and hygienic environment by following established safety and operational protocols.
  • Supports departmental credibility by taking initiative on new tasks, seeking ways to improve outcomes, and collaborating with team members.
  • Escalates concerns or unresolved issues to the supervising Physical Therapist promptly.
