Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant- Outpatient

Responsibilities

  • Engage in direct patient treatment and communicate relevant updates to the supervising physical therapist.
  • Adhere to the treatment plan designed by the physical therapist and operate within state-defined practice standards.
  • Apply professional judgment, ethical conduct, and technical expertise during patient interactions.
  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises and recovery processes with clear instruction and support.
  • Recognize individual patient needs and respond with empathy and attentiveness.
  • Suggest adjustments to treatment plans to support patient progress, safety, and comfort, reporting them to the physical therapist.
  • Enter accurate, timely documentation in the electronic medical record under PT supervision, including daily notes requiring co-signature.
  • Respond to patient inquiries and provide necessary information about their care.
  • Assist in therapy delivery by applying thermal agents, positioning patients on equipment, tracking ambulation metrics, and performing assigned exercises and strengthening methods.
  • Teach patients proper techniques for using therapy equipment and completing prescribed routines.
  • Uphold patient trust by safeguarding confidential health information.
  • Ensure a safe and hygienic treatment environment by following established protocols and safety regulations.
  • Contribute to departmental excellence by taking initiative on new tasks, seeking ways to improve outcomes, and collaborating with team members.
  • Escalate concerns or unresolved issues to the supervising physical therapist for resolution.
