Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant- Outpatient

Responsibilities

  • Engages in direct patient care and communicates updates about patient status to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Adheres to treatment plans developed by the Physical Therapist while operating within state-defined scope of practice.
  • Demonstrates professional judgment, care, and technical competence in all assigned tasks.
  • Provides clear instruction and guidance to patients on therapeutic exercises and recovery processes.
  • Recognizes individual patient needs and responds with empathy and support.
  • Communicates recommendations for treatment adjustments to ensure patient progress, safety, and comfort.
  • Enters accurate documentation into the electronic medical record under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, including daily notes requiring co-signature.
  • Responds to patient inquiries and fulfills information requests promptly and accurately.
  • Assists in treatment delivery by applying thermal agents, supporting use of exercise equipment, monitoring mobility, and performing prescribed therapeutic activities as directed.
  • Teaches patients proper techniques for using therapeutic equipment and following exercise protocols.
  • Safeguards patient privacy by maintaining confidentiality of all health information.
  • Ensures a safe and hygienic environment by following established safety and sanitation procedures.
  • Contributes positively to departmental reputation by taking initiative, embracing new responsibilities, supporting team goals, and seeking ways to improve outcomes.
  • Escalates concerns or complications to the supervising Physical Therapist for resolution.
