Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant- Outpatient

Responsibilities

  • Engages directly in patient treatment and communicates updates about patient status to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Implements therapy plans as designed by the licensed Physical Therapist while adhering to state-specific practice regulations.
  • Demonstrates professional judgment, care, and technical ability when carrying out assigned tasks.
  • Teaches and guides patients through therapeutic exercises and recovery processes.
  • Recognizes individual patient needs and responds with empathy and support.
  • Recommends adjustments to treatment plans to support patient progress, safety, and comfort, reporting them to the supervising therapist.
  • Enters accurate and timely documentation into the electronic medical record system to reflect therapy services provided.
  • Records daily treatment notes under the direct oversight of a Physical Therapist, who co-signs all entries.
  • Responds to patient inquiries and fulfills requests with clear and helpful information.
  • Assists in patient treatment by applying thermal or cold therapies, positioning patients on exercise equipment, monitoring movement, recording ambulation data, and performing prescribed therapeutic activities as directed.
  • Instructs patients by modeling correct use of therapy equipment and exercise protocols.
  • Protects patient privacy and maintains operational integrity by handling sensitive information confidentially.
  • Ensures a safe and hygienic work environment by following established safety and operational procedures.
  • Supports departmental and organizational goals by taking initiative on new assignments, seeking ways to improve outcomes, and collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Escalates concerns or unresolved issues to the supervising Physical Therapist for resolution.
