Responsibilities
- Engages directly in patient treatment and communicates relevant health updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Adheres to treatment plans designed by the Physical Therapist while operating within state-regulated practice standards.
- Demonstrates professional judgment, attentiveness, and technical ability when carrying out assigned tasks.
- Teaches and guides patients through therapeutic exercises and recovery strategies effectively.
- Recognizes individual patient requirements and responds with empathy and supportive care.
- Communicates suggestions for treatment adjustments to improve patient progress, safety, and comfort.
- Documents patient sessions accurately in the electronic medical record under direct supervision and with required co-signature by a licensed PT.
- Responds to patient inquiries by providing clear and accurate information.
- Assists in therapy delivery by applying thermal treatments, supporting patient use of exercise equipment, monitoring ambulation metrics, and performing prescribed therapeutic activities as directed.
- Instructs patients on correct usage of therapy equipment and exercise protocols through live demonstrations.
- Upholds patient privacy and organizational integrity by safeguarding confidential information.
- Ensures a safe and hygienic environment by following established safety and operational guidelines.
- Supports departmental and organizational reputation by taking initiative, embracing varied assignments, and contributing as a collaborative team member.
- Escalates concerns or complications to the supervising Physical Therapist for resolution.
