Responsibilities
- Engages directly in patient treatment and communicates relevant health updates to the supervising therapist.
- Implements therapy plans designed by licensed physical therapists while adhering to state regulations.
- Demonstrates professional judgment, care, and technical ability during all duties.
- Teaches and guides patients through therapeutic exercises and recovery strategies.
- Recognizes individual patient needs and responds with empathy and support.
- Recommends adjustments to treatment plans to support progress, safety, and comfort.
- Documents patient sessions in the electronic medical record with daily notes co-signed by a licensed therapist.
- Responds clearly to patient inquiries and fulfills information requests.
- Assists in therapy delivery by applying thermal treatments, positioning patients, monitoring mobility, and performing prescribed exercises.
- Instructs patients in correct use of therapy equipment and exercise techniques.
- Protects patient privacy and maintains operational integrity through strict confidentiality.
- Ensures a safe, clean environment by following established safety and operational protocols.
- Supports departmental reputation by taking initiative, embracing new tasks, and contributing as a collaborative team member.
- Escalates unresolved issues or concerns to the supervising physical therapist.
