Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant- Outpatient

Responsibilities

  • Engages directly in patient treatment and communicates relevant health updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Adheres to the treatment plan designed by the Physical Therapist while operating within state-defined practice standards.
  • Demonstrates professional judgment, diligence, and technical proficiency when carrying out responsibilities.
  • Provides clear instruction and guidance to patients on therapeutic exercises and recovery processes.
  • Recognizes individual patient needs and responds with empathy and attentiveness.
  • Communicates recommendations for treatment adjustments to support patient progress, safety, and comfort.
  • Enters accurate and timely documentation into the electronic medical record system to reflect therapy services delivered.
  • Records daily treatment notes under the direct oversight of a Physical Therapist, who co-signs the entries.
  • Responds to patient inquiries by providing accurate information and addressing concerns.
  • Assists in patient treatment through application of thermal agents, support with exercise equipment, motion monitoring, gait tracking, and performance of prescribed therapeutic activities as directed.
  • Teaches patients correct usage of therapy equipment and exercise protocols through live demonstration.
  • Upholds patient trust and operational integrity by safeguarding confidential health information.
  • Ensures a safe and hygienic environment by following established safety and sanitation protocols.
  • Supports departmental and organizational reputation by taking initiative on new tasks, seeking ways to improve outcomes, and collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Escalates any unresolved issues or concerns to the supervising Physical Therapist for resolution.
