Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant- Outpatient

Responsibilities

  • Engages in direct patient care and communicates relevant updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Adheres to the established treatment plan and operates within state-defined practice standards.
  • Demonstrates professional judgment, integrity, and technical proficiency in all tasks.
  • Educates and guides patients through prescribed exercises and recovery strategies.
  • Recognizes individual patient needs and responds with empathy and attentiveness.
  • Communicates recommendations for treatment adjustments to support patient progress, safety, and comfort.
  • Documents patient sessions in the electronic medical record under direct supervision, with required co-signature by a Physical Therapist.
  • Responds to patient inquiries and provides accurate, helpful information.
  • Assists in therapy delivery by applying thermal treatments, supporting use of exercise equipment, monitoring mobility metrics, and performing assigned therapeutic activities.
  • Demonstrates correct use of therapeutic equipment and exercise techniques to patients.
  • Upholds patient trust by maintaining confidentiality of all personal and medical information.
  • Ensures a safe and hygienic environment by following established protocols and safety regulations.
  • Contributes to departmental reputation by embracing new responsibilities, seeking improvement opportunities, and collaborating effectively with team members.
  • Escalates concerns or complications to the supervising Physical Therapist in a timely manner.
