Metro Physical & Aquatic Therapy is hiring a Physical Therapist Assistant- Outpatient

Responsibilities

  • Engages directly in patient treatment and communicates relevant health updates to the supervising Physical Therapist.
  • Implements therapy plans designed by the Physical Therapist while adhering to state-specific practice standards.
  • Demonstrates professional judgment, care, and technical ability when carrying out assigned tasks.
  • Provides clear instruction and guidance to patients on therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation processes.
  • Recognizes individual patient needs and responds with empathy and supportive care.
  • Recommends adjustments to treatment plans to support patient progress, safety, and comfort.
  • Accurately enters required documentation in the electronic medical record system to reflect therapy services delivered.
  • Records daily treatment notes under the direct supervision of a Physical Therapist, who co-signs the entries.
  • Responds to patient inquiries and fulfills information requests promptly and accurately.
  • Assists in patient treatment through application of thermal agents, positioning on equipment, monitoring mobility, and performing prescribed therapeutic activities.
  • Teaches patients correct use of therapy equipment and exercise protocols through demonstration.
  • Protects patient privacy and organizational integrity by maintaining confidentiality of health information.
  • Ensures a safe, clean clinical environment by following established safety and operational procedures.
  • Contributes to departmental excellence by taking initiative, supporting team goals, and pursuing continuous improvement.
  • Escalates concerns or unresolved issues to the supervising Physical Therapist for resolution.
