About the Role
The paralegal will assist attorneys in managing personal injury cases from intake through resolution, ensuring timely filings, accurate records, and effective client support.
Responsibilities
- Manage case files and maintain organized digital records
- Prepare and file court documents in accordance with procedural rules
- Communicate with clients to gather case-related information
- Assist in drafting discovery requests and responses
- Coordinate with medical providers to obtain records
- Track case deadlines and ensure compliance with court schedules
- Summarize medical records and treatment histories
- Support trial preparation including exhibit organization
- Liaise with insurance companies regarding claim status
- Conduct legal research on case-related issues
- Assist in preparing demand packages and settlement materials
- Maintain accurate time and billing entries
- Schedule depositions and coordinate logistics
- Monitor statute of limitations for active cases
- Organize and label evidence for attorney review
- Draft correspondence for attorney approval and signature
- Attend case strategy meetings with legal team
- Update clients on case progress as directed
- Assist in preparing for mediation or arbitration
- Maintain confidentiality of all client information
- Use case management software for task tracking
- Respond to discovery requests from opposing counsel
- Verify service of process and document proof of service
- Prepare timelines and case summaries for court submissions
- Support attorneys during trials with real-time documentation
