As a Senior AI and Automations Engineer, you'll play a central role in shaping the technical backbone of our AI and automation systems. You’ll design, implement, and maintain workflows that process tens of thousands of candidates each month, using AI to streamline evaluation, matching, and scoring processes. Working closely with the AI & Automation Strategy Lead, you’ll turn high-level goals into functional, reliable systems that deliver measurable impact across the organization.
What You’ll Do
- Develop and manage automation infrastructure on self-hosted N8N, ensuring workflows are scalable, monitored, and resilient.
- Integrate LLM APIs—including OpenAI, Claude, and Gemini—into production pipelines for structured candidate analysis and decision support.
- Build internal tools such as matching engines and scoring dashboards that reduce recruiter effort and speed up placements.
- Connect core platforms like Workable, HubSpot, and Google Sheets through secure, reliable API integrations.
- Design data models and backend services using Python frameworks like FastAPI or Flask, and contribute to frontend interfaces using React/Next.js.
- Optimize workflows for speed and cost, focusing on token efficiency and API performance.
- Create accessible interfaces in Google Sheets so non-technical teams can interact with automation outputs independently.
- Document systems thoroughly and enable knowledge transfer to support long-term maintainability.
What We’re Looking For
- 4–7 years of full-stack development experience, with strong Python backend skills and proficiency in React or similar frontend frameworks.
- Proven experience building and maintaining production automation workflows using tools like N8N, Make, or Zapier at scale.
- Hands-on work with LLM APIs in live systems, including prompt engineering, output parsing, and cost-aware deployment.
- Strong API integration skills—especially with CRMs, ATS platforms, and webhook-based services.
- Database experience with PostgreSQL or similar—able to design schemas and write efficient queries.
- Ability to operate independently, translate ambiguous goals into technical plans, and proactively identify improvements.
- Clear communication skills for explaining technical concepts to non-technical collaborators across a distributed team.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with recruitment tech, including ATS and CRM data models like Workable and HubSpot.
- Experience building client-facing products or portals, not just internal tools.
- Specific experience with self-hosted N8N, including custom nodes and credential management.
- Knowledge of AI agent frameworks such as LangChain, CrewAI, or AutoGen.
