Dexterra Group is hiring a Payroll Administrator

As a Payroll Administrator, you will play a key role in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of payroll operations for a multi-province workforce. You'll handle a variety of employee types, including hourly, salaried, union, and non-union staff, ensuring each pay cycle runs smoothly and on schedule.

What You’ll Do

  • Manage employee data in ADP, including updates for new hires, transfers, changes, and terminations.
  • Collect and verify timekeeping records, prepare payroll batches, and import data into the ADP system.
  • Calculate and process regular and retroactive pay, deductions, adjustments, travel reimbursements, and final payments.
  • Reconcile payroll registers and ensure assigned pay groups are balanced and audit-ready.
  • Generate and distribute recurring reports for pay periods and month-end cycles.
  • Prepare union-mandated reports and payment requests in line with collective agreements.
  • Respond to employee inquiries about pay, deductions, or tax forms, directing HR-related issues appropriately.
  • Support year-end processes, including T4 and ROE preparation and reconciliation.
  • Ensure all actions follow Canadian employment standards and internal compliance protocols.

What You Bring

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 to 5+ years of hands-on payroll experience, preferably in a multi-jurisdictional Canadian environment
  • Proven experience with ADP or similar payroll platforms
  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency in Excel
  • Strong understanding of provincial and federal employment legislation
  • Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to meeting deadlines
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive information confidentially
  • Problem-solving ability and a collaborative mindset

Nice to Have

  • PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) designation
  • Experience with ADP Dayforce
  • Fluency in both English and French
