About the Role
The Patient Access Coordinator will manage patient access services, ensuring efficient and accurate scheduling, registration, and handling of patient inquiries.
Responsibilities
- Manage patient scheduling and registration processes.
- Handle patient inquiries and provide necessary information.
- Coordinate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth patient flow.
- Verify patient insurance and demographic information.
- Process patient referrals and pre-authorizations.
- Ensure accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Assist with patient check-in and check-out procedures.
- Resolve scheduling conflicts and issues.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and families.
- Collaborate with other departments to improve patient access processes.
- Participate in training and development opportunities.
- Contribute to the improvement of patient access services.
- Monitor and report on patient access metrics and KPIs.
- Assist with the implementation of new patient access technologies.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures.
- Support the onboarding of new patients and families.
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare providers.
- Manage patient access-related documentation and records.
- Assist with the resolution of patient access-related issues and complaints.
- Provide support to the patient access team as needed.
- Ensure timely and accurate communication with patients and families.
- Contribute to the development of patient access protocols and guidelines.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives related to patient access.
Nice to Have
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- Certification in healthcare administration or a related field.
- Experience with Epic or other EHR systems.
- Bilingual skills in English and Spanish or other languages.
- Experience with patient access management software.
- Knowledge of healthcare reimbursement processes.
- Experience with quality improvement initiatives.
- Familiarity with healthcare regulatory requirements.
- Experience with patient satisfaction surveys and feedback.
- Knowledge of healthcare data analytics and reporting.
