Penn State is hiring a Part Time - Human Development and Family Studies - Adjunct Instructor

What You'll Do

Deliver undergraduate instruction in Human Development and Family Studies with a focus on student engagement and learning outcomes. Contribute to the design and evolution of course content, ensuring alignment with academic standards and program goals. Participate in curriculum planning and adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learner needs. Foster an interactive classroom environment, whether in person or through hybrid formats, grounded in evidence-based practices in human development and family dynamics.

Requirements

A master’s degree from an accredited institution in a relevant field such as human development, education, counseling, psychology, or social work is required. Candidates must demonstrate a strong foundation in theories and research related to individual and family development, behavioral change, and family systems. Familiarity with historical and contemporary perspectives in the discipline is essential, along with a commitment to pedagogical excellence in a student-focused setting.

  • Interest in active and collaborative learning models
  • Experience or enthusiasm for integrating technology into instruction
  • Background or interest in online or hybrid course delivery
