About the Role
The position involves acting as the owner's advocate during commercial construction, managing project delivery, coordinating stakeholders, and ensuring quality, compliance, and efficiency from planning through completion.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for the owner during construction projects
- Oversee project planning, scheduling, and budget development
- Review and evaluate design documents and construction drawings
- Monitor contractor performance and adherence to project requirements
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and regulations
- Coordinate communication between design teams, contractors, and stakeholders
- Track project progress and report updates to ownership
- Manage change orders and contract modifications
- Conduct regular site inspections to verify work quality
- Facilitate resolution of conflicts or delays
- Assist in contractor selection and procurement processes
- Verify conformance with architectural and engineering specifications
- Support risk assessment and mitigation planning
- Maintain detailed project records and documentation
- Ensure timely project delivery within approved budgets
- Evaluate subcontractor qualifications and performance
- Oversee testing and commissioning of building systems
- Coordinate closeout activities and final inspections
- Assist in warranty management and post-construction follow-up
- Promote sustainable building practices where applicable
- Ensure alignment between project execution and owner objectives
- Manage project meetings and prepare meeting summaries
- Review contractor payment applications for accuracy
- Support value engineering initiatives
- Monitor adherence to environmental and regulatory standards
