As an Outside Sales Account Manager, you'll lead business development efforts in the fluid process sector across Michigan, focusing on cities like Detroit, Ann Arbor, Lansing, and Kalamazoo. Your primary responsibility will be identifying new sales opportunities while strengthening existing customer relationships through regular on-site visits and consultative engagement.
Sales & Customer Development
You’ll manage the full sales cycle—from prospecting and qualifying leads to delivering presentations and closing deals. Working closely with your manager, you'll create a targeted plan to prioritize accounts and efficiently cover your territory. Success depends on proactive outreach, including cold calling and face-to-face meetings, supported by disciplined use of CRM tools to track activity and forecast results.
Collaboration & Support
You’ll partner with technical support and customer service teams to understand client challenges and recommend effective solutions. This collaborative approach ensures accurate responses to inquiries and strengthens overall service delivery, helping you meet and exceed performance targets.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Associate degree in a technical, industrial, or business field, or equivalent experience
- Minimum of two years of sales experience, including at least one year in industrial markets
- Proven ability to communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Familiarity with CRM systems and standard business software
- Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel overnight when necessary
Preferred Background
Experience selling fluid handling, filtration systems, industrial pumps, seals, or repair services is highly valued. Prior work with industrial clients in process-driven environments will give you an advantage in understanding customer needs.
