Responsibilities
- Serve as a senior-level technical expert for Oracle Database systems and integrated application environments.
- Lead and execute Oracle Database upgrades, patching activities, and software rollouts within client-facing settings.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues at the third tier, including performance bottlenecks, data inconsistencies, backup failures, and application connectivity.
- Monitor system health proactively by analyzing performance, capacity, backup, and availability metrics to prevent service disruptions.
- Ensure reliable backup, recovery, and restore processes are in place to enhance operational resilience.
- Lead technical investigations during major incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and deploy preventive solutions.
- Maintain and refine technical documentation, operational runbooks, and support procedures.
- Act as the primary escalation point for difficult Oracle and application-layer issues.
- Work with analysts from other teams during live incidents, change implementations, and system upgrades to provide real-time technical leadership.
- Define and enforce technical standards and best practices for database administration and application support operations.
- Review and validate technical changes for accuracy and risk prior to deployment.
- Mentor team members through coaching and knowledge transfer to strengthen overall technical capability.
- Interact directly with customers to coordinate work schedules and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Communicate complex technical problems in clear, non-technical terms to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Advise clients on system stability, performance optimization, resilience improvements, and upgrade planning.
- Identify operational inefficiencies and contribute to developing scripted maintenance routines.

Requirements
- Senior-level technical expertise with Oracle Database platforms and related application stacks
- Hands-on experience managing Oracle Database upgrades, patching, and software deployments
- Demonstrated skill in third-line troubleshooting, including performance tuning, data issues, backup failures, and connectivity problems
- Experience in maintaining and optimizing backup, recovery, and restore procedures
- Proven track record leading root cause analysis and applying corrective and preventive measures
- Ability to establish technical standards and best practices for database and application support
- Experience mentoring and coaching technical staff to improve team performance
- Direct customer interaction experience, including priority management and simplifying technical details
