About the Role
The Operations Specialist I will manage day-to-day logistics tasks for lifesciences customers, including shipment coordination, documentation accuracy, and adherence to regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate transportation of temperature-sensitive biological materials
- Verify compliance with handling and documentation requirements
- Communicate proactively with carriers and clients to ensure on-time delivery
- Monitor shipment status and intervene when delays occur
- Maintain accurate records in internal tracking systems
- Respond to customer inquiries regarding shipment progress
- Escalate critical issues to supervisory staff promptly
- Follow standard operating procedures for lifesciences shipments
- Support quality assurance audits with complete documentation
- Assist in resolving billing discrepancies related to service performance
- Collaborate with internal teams to optimize workflow efficiency
- Adhere to safety protocols when handling shipment data and materials
- Participate in training for regulatory compliance updates
- Track key performance metrics for operational accuracy
- Ensure chain-of-custody integrity for all managed shipments
- Input and update data in logistics management software
- Prepare reports summarizing daily operational activity

- Support onboarding of new lifesciences clients
- Handle confidential customer information with discretion
- Work within defined service level agreements
- Manage after-hours on-call responsibilities on rotation
