Role Overview
We are seeking a skilled Network & Security Engineer to support a leading European organization in delivering managed network and security services. This position operates remotely and focuses on engineering and maintaining resilient network infrastructures for internet service providers, global enterprises, and large-scale data centers.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will design, implement, and troubleshoot advanced network and security solutions. You'll develop low-level designs and network diagrams, support application delivery systems, and ensure robust security across complex environments. Your work will directly impact the reliability and performance of mission-critical networks.
Required Expertise
- At least five years of hands-on networking experience
- Proven background in data center architecture, with emphasis on IP networking, security, and application delivery
- Extensive experience with Cisco routing and switching platforms, including ASR and Nexus series
- Strong command of Next Generation Firewalls, including Checkpoint and Fortinet
- In-depth knowledge of load balancing technologies such as F5 BIGIP (LTM and GTM), Radware, and Alteon
- Experience working with Unix-based systems
- Proficiency in reverse engineering and resolving complex network issues
- Ability to create detailed technical documentation and Visio diagrams
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken
- Strong communication skills and comfort working in diverse, international teams
- Self-driven approach with a focus on project outcomes
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, CCSA, or CCSE
- Hands-on experience with Cisco ACI and software-defined networking
- Familiarity with cloud networking models
- Background in network automation using Ansible or Python
- Understanding of remote access platforms including Connectra and Citrix
